ECOTRON 1st birthday!

After 12 months of dedicated work, it is time to celebrate our first birthday!

Our partner VTT hosted the meeting in Oulu, Finland. This was a perfect occasion to get together, celebrate but also discuss the current progress of the project and strategic development in the next year. ECOTRON aims to develop new printed electronics technologies that will improve the sustainability of products. In order to achieve that, partners have been developing novel dismantling technologies, processes for metal extraction, new bio-based and compostable materials, innovative printing methods and much more.

Technologies are starting to show positive result and most promising ones are emerging. The initial LCA calculations are already indicating that printed electronics can significantly improve the sustainability of the products and reduce the negative impact on the environment which is the ultimate goal of the project.
