New Publication on Antimicrobial Conductive Materials

07/04/2026

Alberto Bottari and Vincenzina Barbera have published a new paper addressing a key challenge in advanced materials research: how to combine antimicrobial activity with electrical conductivity in carbon-based materials.

This balance represents a complex trade-off, as improving one property can often compromise the other. Their work explores how both functionalities can be achieved simultaneously, while also maintaining scalability—an essential factor for real-world applications and industrial adoption.

The results contribute to ongoing efforts to develop multifunctional materials that meet both performance and practical manufacturing requirements.
