Tackling E-Waste with Industrial-Scale Recycling of Printed Electronics

11/08/2025

Electronic waste is the fastest-growing waste stream globally, rising at about 2% per year, yet less than 40% is currently recycled. A major barrier is the high cost and low quality of secondary raw materials, which limits their reuse in production.

As part of ECOTRON, an industrial-scale recycling process for printed electronics is being developed to reduce costs and accelerate the transition to a circular economy. By improving material recovery and reintegration, this approach aims to make electronic production more sustainable and circular.
