Unveiling the ECOTRON Project: Revolutionizing Printed Electronics for a Greener Future

Discover the essence of the ECOTRON project, where sustainability takes center stage in the realm of printed electronics, aiming to mitigate their environmental impact.

Driven by this mission, our consortium is pioneering various techniques, including innovative reversible interconnects and silver recollection, alongside bio-based and compostable materials, and innovative printing methods.

These breakthroughs will be validated across four diverse use cases: BD’s on-body medical device, POLAR’s sports chest strap, Signify’s LED light panels, and Janssen’s smart packaging for vaccines.

The overarching goal is to enable recycling of printed electronics products, curbing electronic waste, embracing sustainable materials, and steering towards a brighter environmental future for our planet.
